Andrea De Rego, Hero of the MonthBy
I’ve had the pleasure and honor of working with an amazing woman and couple. Andrea and her husband David since they joined Coastal Travel. It has been an honor and a pleasure Andrea. Thank you for allowing me a front row seat to your success. I can only imagine the thousands of moms and dads you do inspire and will continue to inspire. Special Thanks to Michelle Tascoe for volunteering her time out of her own business to submit Andrea.
HERO OF THE MONTH

Andrea De Rego: With Coastal Travel You Can Have Your Cake and Eat It Too!
“ A year of focued effort can be life altering”–Andrea De Rego
Andrea De Rego from New Jersey just got back from advanced training with ABC’s Secret Millionaire Dani Johnson at her training event First Steps to Success, which took place in Orlando, FL. Andrea’s commitment to her business and training has been fruitful. This month she made it on the Leaderboard bringing 5 new team members to her team. She also earned her DFI Award Ring in the beginning of the year so momentum is certainly building up for her this first quarter.
I loved interviewing Andrea for March’s hero of the month because she is one of those women that tells it how it is and we all need someone like that in our lives. So here is the scoop!!!
Andrea came to our DFI team (family) from a real estate background. She had a company that invested in foreclosures and short sales but BANG when the market fell hard real estate took a big hit. Andrea’s bank account was plummeting and projections did not look promising for a turn around in the near future in her industry. Hence she started looking for another way.
Andrea candidly shares that she didn’t start her business like a house on fire. For her, Coastal Travel was a slow start. Her belief in the beginning was that she was highly skilled in her prior career and that those skills would crossover. That meant it would equal to immediate success. Of course! A no brainer! But… that wasn’t how it played out.
Good thing for this Jersey girl quitting was not an option. It wasn’t a question of if it was going to work for her, just a question of when. Then it happened. In a matter of 6 weeks she did $8,200. Victory at last!
Currently Andrea works a full-time job during the day and builds her Coastal business at night. Her schedule is 9-5 Monday to Friday and after she gets home she builds her Coastal business from 5:30 to 7:30pm Monday to Thursday. Andrea clearly is committed to her future. In fact a wise and wealthy man once said make an income during the day and your build a fortune at night. His last name was Kyosaki.
Funny enough she is the top producer in the company at her normal day job. She shares that it is all because of the training with Coastal and Dani Johnson. It increased her people skills to a different playing field. Plus she learned key strategies to streamline her life, be more efficient in building her business and gleaned how you can have freedom through structure.
“People who waste time have time to waste. I can have a full time job, do about 500 dials working part time with Coastal, build a residual income and still have a life!”
I second that! With all that is going on Andrea has been able to take 2 trips to Belize to help and give back to the King’s Children’s Home, an orphanage in Belize. Her last trip was this past Christmas where she traveled with other DFI directors and prior Hero’s of the Month.
Ultimately, this is part of the bigger vision for Andrea. Another part is to rent an RV and travel around the country visiting all her friends and seeing the sunset at beaches and mountains all over the country. What it comes down to is the freedom to live an unconventional life.
It’s about lifestyle.
Not having to report somewhere to someone.
Not having to go into the office
Isn’t that what we all want?
Yes, that is why many of us started this business and that is what many of us have been able to achieve and many more are on their way there.
There is no doubt in my mind that Andrea is on her way there. She is doing a lot of the RIGHT things.
Her 3 keys to success:
1. Track your numbers because feelings often lie but numbers never do.
2. Work when you are supposed to work
3. Persist and never give up never say die
Her tips for those that work a full time job and are building their Coastal Travel business part time:
1. Don’t let your job be an excuse to not work your business
2. Plan your time because your business will go more smoothly if you work efficiently at work. Honor your responsibilities at work and stick to your business hours
3. Keep the vision in front of you. Coming off a full day of work can be tough some days but is is worth it especially if you are clear on why you are doing it. Never lose sight of your vision to live an unconventional life

On behalf of everyone in DFI thank you Andrea for all that you do and the example you are of balancing a full time life while paving a way to freedom and an unconventional life. Cheers!!! You are DFI’S HERO OF THE MONTH!
The next First Steps to Success will be in Pittsburgh, PA April 27th-29th
Make sure you are there if you want to be considered for the next Hero of the Month and to meet other Hero’s in DFI.
Michelle and Andrea you are both amazing business women with phenomenal integrity. I’m still humbly cheering you on each and every day. Thanks for giving me a chance to work with you so many years ago. Now we travel the world and build wealth together!
