My Wife is the Love of My Life

Today it is a complete honor and privilege to have been married to the most amazing woman on the planet for 10 solid years.  I wish I could say 10 amazing great and glorious years but the fact of the matter is life isn’t always perfect and neither is marriage.  But through the ups and the downs God gave me a strong, passionate wife that I could not ever possibly imagine going through this game called life without.

When Dawn and I first got married life was so much different we were both kids.  I was head strong, confident and driven.  She was like a soft gentle pearl flowing with the tides of the ocean, someone who would never hurt a soul no matter what.  Today as we continue to grow together she’s softened me up quite a bit and smoothed out my edges and she may still be a gentle pearl but she is a very decisive one.  It is quite comical in some ways now as people on the outside (family and close friends) look in at our life and marriage no matter what direction we are going in as a family they assume it’s my leading the way.  In many ways I maybe leading boldly and going against the grain (like our recent decision to cut cable and satellite out of our house) but Dawn is the silent cheerleader pushing strongly for the change.

I can say without a doubt God has made me a better man through my wife.  Dawn knows how to bring the best out in me.  She knows when I’ve went through seasons of stress and she knows how to gently and delicately handle my strong personality through those times.  She is my best friend the things that I can share with my wife the personal battles that I have in the mind as a man, husband and dad; I’m confident most man can’t use their wife as an outlet to share those things.  Our personal struggles become our mutual struggles.  It’s an incredible feeling; no matter what comes our way God has given me a partner to weather any storm.  Life is sure to have more storms but there are also plenty of sunny days in life as well, Dawn thank you so much for being the woman of my dreams and so much more.

You are Amazing!
Your Husband,
Stacy O’Quinn

Beautiful! I like the term ’10 solid’ years. I will be borrowing that phrase when I talk about our 20+ years of marriage… 🙂

WOW! That’s all I can say other than Congratulations to both of you. Without having the chance to meet Dawn yet (hopefully soon) I can say that you nor Jackie ever fail me in your choice of words. I’m sure Dawn put some serious patients into smoothing thoses edges out but hopefully she enjoyed them along the way also!!! Coming from someone that can truly admire the work and effort you have both put into your marriage, AWESOME!!
